Emerald Green Seas? Is It a Sign? (March 02, 2010)
Some say it's a sign -- a bad omen of things to come. But truth be told, it's the mischief of that charming rouge, Shamus O'Malley. He so loves his native Ireland and the color green, that instead of letting the barrels of green dye get shipped to ports around the world, he did something ... shameless! O'Malley stole onto the EITC cargo ships at night carrying the valuable dye and dumped it overboard. Of course, he kept some dye to hand out to the local merchants so Pirates like yourself could get a fine looking green hairdo to help celebrate - St. Patrick's Day!
The Irish GM, Shamus O'Malley, leads the celebration of his patron saint on Wednesday, March 17. Shamus will be giving away gold to Pirates all day ...so tell all your mates and Guild members to enjoy the celebration!
Where is this stockpile of weapons? (February 25, 2010)
Some think these mythical weapons don't even exist. Others think that they are cursed with a strong magic that makes them unstoppable - and whoever controls them rules the Caribbean. Fact or fable? No one will know until the weapons are discovered. Jolly Roger thinks they are real and has sent his minions to Padres on a QUEST to find them. You can aid them or stop them, depending on your loyalties.
If they are more than just the vain imaginings of grog-soaked townsfolk, then it's critical that all good Pirates do what they can to keep these weapons away from Jolly and those feckless EITC thugs. A word of warning however - Jolly Roger and Lord Beckett have spies everywhere - so mind yer steps, savvy?
Find Captain Ezekiel Rott near the Docks on Padres del Fuego to begin this New Quest! This Quest can only be played by Unlimited Access Members and your Pirates must have a Level 15 Overall Notoriety or higher. Quest starts on Feb. 26.
Item codes are earned by Pirates for various achievements - for example, finding a GM like Captain Cromwell or Shamus O' Malley, for winning a GM hosted race (like the Feats of Strength) or even for successfully completing a game like Call of the Kraken. Codes are then exchanged in-game for a prize, such as gold or an item like a tattoo.
Please Note:
Call of the Kraken runs on Windows ME, 2000 and XP only.
Qualifying players will receive a code to redeem Pirates of the Caribbean: Call of the Kraken approximately one week after January 31, 2010. You must be an Unlimited Access Member as of January 31, 2010 in order to be eligible for this offer.
We'll have many events in the future where you might receive a code. Currently, you can get a code for an exclusive Kraken tattoo in our free Call of the Kraken offer. If you get or have a code, here's how to turn it into a prize:
1. Open a chat window by pressing [ENTER]
2. In chat, type /code, followed by your code, like the example below:
Make sure you enter your code in the same chat window you've typed /code. Insert a space between /code your code. You must type /code for the code to work.
3. Finally, give the code a moment to be confirmed by the system before pressing any other keys.
After entering the code, you'll get a confirmation message in the chat window that reads Code Redeemed in green text. It's that simple. Items are added to your Inventory while gold is added automatically to your current gold amount.
Placing a Tattoo on Your Character
Players can equip a tattoo at any Tattoo Parlors in-game, just follow these steps:
1. Enter any Tattoo Parlor in-game, then to talk to the Tattooist by pressing [SHIFT].
2. Select the "Store" option.
3. If you have redeemed your code for the Call of the Kraken game, click the Arm tab (the icon that looks like an arm), then click "My Items" then select the tattoo. If you have not redeemed your Call of the Kraken reward code, the tattoo will not display in the "My Items" menu.
4. If you currently have more than four tattoos on your arm, you may need to sell one or two for the tattoo to appear.
Item Codes do not expire. Each code is unique and can only be used one time. We track all redeemed codes. If you get a code from a friend and it doesn't work, it's probably because they have used it already! Since codes do not expire, you can save a code for future use.
Note: The above types of Item Codes are given for events like the Feats of Strength and for games like Call of Kraken. There are also codes for free Unlimited Access 14-day Guest Passes, but these codes must be entered using the Account Manager through the website.
